Robin Crumby

I have more than 25 years hands-on experience starting, managing and advising high-growth B2B businesses. For three years up until December 2020 I advised the Board of Chemical Watch prior to its sale to Enhesa. I currently serve as as a non-executive director at Kademy alongside other advisory roles.

For nineteen years I held leadership roles at Melcrum, a research and training business, advising executives at Fortune 500 organizations worldwide. I stewarded the business from a "kitchen-table" start-up in 1996 to an organisation with offices in the US, UK and Asia-Pac and blue-chip customers in more than ninety countries. In November 2015, Melcrum was acquired by the Corporate Executive Board, now Gartner.

I am based in London and a regular speaker on entrepreneurship and scaling businesses. I hold a BA Honours in French from Bristol University, a Diploma in European Business Administration from UWE and I am a graduate of Cass Business School’s ‘Better Business Programme’.

I am the author of The Hurst Chronicles book series, a distance runner, play and coach field hockey and enjoy tennis and messing around in boats.

I have been an entrepreneur for over two decades. My latest business @Kademy is a brand-new learning and development platform for corporate communications teams that combines courses, coaching and connections.

My career started as a business school teacher more than 25 years ago, and I continued that passion, honing my skills as I led Melcrum from very humble beginnings to a leader in the industry, providing thought leadership and services to the top Internal Communication leaders and organizations around the globe.

I have a belief that, when you unleash the full potential of people, extraordinary things happen. That belief is what continues my determination to elevate the communications profession as a critical driver of superior performance.
